”Andy Warhol said that his films were about personality – not the history or the fate of individuals, but personality in all its ineffability – so when your subject is a person, it’s better to watch than to tell stories. Three fantasies about three characters (Gurdjieff, Marilyn Monroe, Simone Weil) are an attempt to follow that lead. They are not stories, but situations in which personality becomes manifest and might intersect with the personality of the actor who enters into a personal, almost intimate relation with it: into a fantastic and risky experiment of transference. Personality is not merely the character of an individual, but also that individual’s radical longing, his or her unfulfilled yet potential persona; personality is also a matter of autosuggestion and self-deceit, as well as a myth that sometimes erupts among others. For all their differences, all three individuals shared a desire to transcend boundaries, and – for all their incompatibility – there can only be one, eternally human, vision of transgression.”

I keep on seeking the pose… Each death, each path to death ends up with a different pose. Are we able to find it? – it’s where you run out of intuitions. I need not to know about it, I need to say something that would shape me just like you shape yourself, when you turn from side to side… again and again – when you are sleeping...
Maybe I should sleep, when you take photos of me?
The case is, I can’t fall asleep…
What can one look for, what kind of visions? It can’t simply result from an intentional peevishness. From some kind of fastidious perversity. It should be completely spontaneous.

All the photos I have taken so far are empty. There are thousands of them, all taken in search of that one pose…
