: The World of the play, about Le Petit Bois

The World of the play
A village, a circus, its characters .... We recognise the colours of autumn and the smell of wet grass, everything seems familiar and yet we feel strangely lost, as if wandering in an unknown land.

Between sweet dreams and nightmares, the character navigates us around the troubled waters of memory and delivers to us his excess of buried words. A movement, a laugh, a look, quite simple things ... Life in the country. He caresses us, amuses us and hey presto! when we're least expecting it, without being obvious about it, he goes and scratches us, disturbs us. This little fellow won't leave us alone any more.

About Le Petit Bois
He is afraid of the silence, so he speaks to himself and to others, in the absence of some-one else. Images come back to him, and, to be stronger than they are in a trembling, floating present, he clings to these "returns" of dreams, nursery rhymes and proverbs mingled with distant memories from the bible, these tiny but necessary gestures. He says he can see in the dark and touch fire with his hands and circle around the scene of a crime to which it would be impossible to return. And the phrases and the lights of the festivities and the merry-go-rounds turn with him.
