Groupe Coué
The Coué Group is a collective made up of personalities
mainly from the theatre, but also from dance, music and poetry. The
group's purpose, however, does not lie in vaguely utopian fusions,
but rather in the schizophrenic interaction of different practices,
to test limits, dissonances, contrasts, frictions. The activity of
Coué is not the creation of fixed, finished products, but the setting
up of free, open "appearance devices", where something is
abandoned to what occurs, where accident is given a place, where actual
experience plays a role, where the attempt to go beyond formal innovation
is nothing less than to establish, to open places of encounter, to
make things happen, to answer present.
